Private Key

    A long string of alphanumeric characters that are stored in your wallet and are usually encrypted with a pass phrase.  A private key is the equivalent to a password; it is what you use to spend / save your coins.

    Each Bitcoin or Satoshi has 1 of more private key.

    The length of private keys vary depending on the type of cryptocurrency. For example, In Bitcoin, a private key is a 256-bit number.
